Welcome to Thoughts Run Deep

Hello all. Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my new blog. I've been pondering writing one for awhile but wasn't sure I had enough to say. To be totally honest I'm still not sure I do. My plan is to document my endeavor to run 12 half marathons in 2013, and write about important events in my life. I'll also may throw in some creative writings to get some critiques from all of you. And when I feel the urge I'll fill it with the minutia of my life.

Running has become not just my main form of maintaining physical fitness, but it is also the key to my mental well being. I do some of my most clear thinking while out for a run. A run clears my head after a hard day at work, generates positive energy when I'm run down mentally and emotionally and is the key to feelings of self accomplishment after a great work out or race. 

After 2012 I felt the need to set some realistic stretch goals. One race a month seemed to be challenging yet doable, and going back to that whole accomplishment thing potentially fulfilling(if successful). At this point I have my races scheduled for the year except for November and December. Apparently those are the slow months for running events in MN. I may have to plan some travel if I want to get a race in for those months. If you have any great races you can recommend in November and December let me know.

Well its getting late and I need to go for a run tomorrow.  :) Until next time...think deep & run fast.
